Description

We had some decent northern lights last night. I didn’t bother going far as it was really windy and the clear sky came as a surprise, so I was capturing photos just from my backyard.

I recently found of that the owner of the small kiosk in this settlement speaks english and told me that a polar bear was spotted in this area this year before the schools started. Now it will be more exciting to walk outside in the dark alone knowing this. But in all seriousness most greenlandic people have never seen a polar bear and this is still not the ”hot spot” for them. Further north in the town of Upernavik and above the odds would increase, but also on the southern tip of Greenland. The most likely place however is the north-east where theres only one ultra isolated settlement ”Ittoqqortoormiit.”

Qeqertaq, Greenland. An isolated island of 100 people.
